truce.

you can have washington i'll take new jersey

you can have london but i want new york city

i should get providence i've got a job now

los angeles - obvious - that's where you belong now

you can have africa asia australia

as long as you keep your hands off cafe pamplona

we can split germany right down the middle

you'd hate it there anyway

take berlin and well call it even

you can take all of the carry-on baggage

i'll trade the saskia jokes for the alphabet language

and if we find out that we have any children

we'll trade them off summers and alternating weekends

you call it over and i call you psycho

significant other?

just say we were lovers and we'll call it even

we'll call it even

i am the ground zero ex-friend you ordered

disgused as a hero to get past your borders

i know when i'm wanted i'll leave when you ask me to

mind my own business and speak when i'm spoken to

i am the tower around which you orbited

i am not proud i am just taking orders

i fall to the groud within moments of impact

i hit back if hit

and attack if attacked

you get route 2 between concord and lexington

i want mass ave from the sqaure to my apartment

and if we should meet through some misunderstanding

ill be very sweet very patient and forgiving

(now get off my side of the state)

and if we should meet one another in passing

despite these techniques there is sometimes no avoiding

(there must be some kind of mistake)

we'll raise high our white flags and say hi and shake hands

declaring the land we're on unamerican

we'll call it even

i am the tower around which you orbited

i am not proud i am just taking orders

i fall to the groud within moments of impact

i hit back if hit

and attack if attacked

i am an accident waiting to happen

i'm laughing like mad while you strangle the captain

my place may be taken, but make no mistake

from a little black black box i can say without shame

that you've lost

do you know what you've lost?

so take whatever you'd like

i'll strike like the States on fire

you won't sleep very tight

no hiding

no safe covers

make your bed and now lie

just like you always do

you can fake it for the papers but i'm on to you....

you must insert a title

Camille.Jewel.Lorenz says:
who really gives a flying fuck about him he always seems to
get exactly what he wants with you and he knows that
I graduate soon.
VERY soon.
I've been spending the last few months saying I wasn't ready.
Saying I didn't want to leave.
It was happening too fast and I wasn't ready for the change.
I'm sure that's part of it.
But there's so much more.
my mom died 26 months ago.
I'm graduating in 4.
She's going to miss it.
She missed me growing up.
I know she saw me take my first steps.
and learn words.
and go to school.
and get my first crush.
but she missed watching me turn into a person I'm moderately proud of.
she missed the first fight with Rachel.
she missed my first broken heart.
These are the things mom are supposed to be there for...

The things I want her here for... right now.
The things I need her for.

Coolest V-day everrr.
At Mary and Jessy right now.
Bible study in 1 hr.
Talking to Taryn... she's my valentine this yeeeear.
I must admit I look pretty hot today.

Mary and I were looking at prom dresses.
It actually got me kinda excited for prom.
Now I just need a date.

I actually just love this day...
Even though I don't have a boyfriend for the biggest relationship day of the year,
I still have great friends (although I didn't get the vday chocolate bar you promised, Dan) and it's always an excuse not to work in class.

I'm glad I have bible study tonight... the boy I like will be thereee
so why wouldn't I want to be there.
Not to mention God will be there.

Happy valentines everybody!

Feel the rain on your skin

You would have made me go to sleep in my room and BEFORE 3am.
You probably would have one of those annoying switches installed that turn
off my computer so I wouldn't be on it all night. Granted,
I wouldn't have a reason to be If you were here.
I definitely would not ignore my clock every time it went off, not that I would
need it at all. I would just rely on "Mooe, wakie wakie".
Day in and day out. Everything in life could change, a natural disaster
could occur 3 blocks away and it would still be the same wake up call.
You would make me eat breakfast. No way would I get out the door without
a solid meal in my stomach. And a glass of fresh orange juice.
You'd be downstairs when I finally rolled out of bed, making a paper bag
feast. Like the ones Ben brings to school.
The bottomless lunches that everyone steals stuff
from because we all know that with that much food, he's
not going to starve.
When I came home from school, you would have been there waiting.
No matter where you worked or what the hours should be,
you would be ready and waiting at 3 o clock.
You would ask for every detail of my day, like you really cared,
not like dad. Wandering in the door at 7 and asking half heartedly while
doing 500 other things and only because he heard
you do it for 20 years with Jacob and I.
I would tell you about how Carlye is the biggest bitch in photography
but how I love her anyway. Or how I miss sleepovers at Rachel's
house because I feel like that's the most 100% real family.
I would talk about that cute boy I met and that cute boy
that I can't get over.
I'd tell you how much I missed you and how much it completely
fucked dad over.
He would get home and probably not even notice you were
there cooking dinner.
Because no offense, but life has moved on without you.
But I can still dream, can't I?

The weekend was pretty sweet, I must say.
Friday night was the talent show, and even though we wont know who wins until everyone else
in Canada submits their entries... I'm pretty sure Caitlyn is going to win.
Let's face it.
Her slam poetry is amazing.
Bradley Hathaway would be jealous... and he's the most amazing slam poet I can think of.
...besides Caitlyn.
Marc Morin, Daryl Knapp, Mike Anderson and Josh Reno did their SABSB (Salvation Army Backstreet Boys) deal. It was pretty rad.
On Saturday I worked until 9 or so, and then I was so tired, my feet were killing me, and I pretty much wanted to die... but at 11:30 Caitlyn invited me over, so I walked there and we watched Narnia... cause I love her that much.
We slept thru the first bit of church, then hurried over there (there being across town... because we live at the opposite end of nanaimo from the church)
and afterwards we had that vision 2007 thing.
Then Shawn drove me to Mrs.Bourke's and the jobies and I made cards for v-day, thanksgiving, pretty much any holiday you can think of.
I hung around with Debralyn, and mailed in my poetry and speech arts entries for grand sessions.
Sunday night I went to the Dangerous Meeting... which consisted of spending 'quality time' with Shawn while Mike, Daryl, and Charis practiced, (crazy band members) buying candy from the co-op with Camille, and being bench pressed by Mike ("just to see if he can")

Watched One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest today in Psych.

That movie is messed and I am so beat.

Goooodnight.

Silence

What’s happening here?
I was once so alive and now I’m so full of dread and almost dead
Show me your wounded head that is lead to communion with the father
But where did he go?
His presence seems farther and farther away each day
but I’m trying so hard to steer his way
Yet still lonely and confused on this cold hard ground I lay

Speak to me wise mouth and say “it’s all good kid, it’s nothing that you did, and though it feels like I’m not here with you right now just be still and silent and listen for that sound..
Shhh..
Did you hear it?
Listen again.
Did you hear it?
That silent voice that just spoke nothing, that is me, I’m listening to your plea with open ears Counting all your tears flowing from your irritated eyes
Searching the skies looking for that hope that beyond there lies.

Oh you young worrisome sparrow, find rest
Lay your battered head upon my omnipresent breast and make it your nest
No strong cold wind could ever blow and carry you from this your home
Look around, see the life shooting up from the ground
Spring colors springing fourth and celebration of your trusting

It’s a constant process this is
Growing you into the person you are to become
But when you sense the setting of the sun know it is only rising and has just begun
Now go fourth, sing songs of faith, and lift up others in the midst of this race
And if you can’t keep the pace or lose sight of my face
Know that I’m always near so you need not fear
But don’t worry about all that right now
Just sit here and enjoy the peace I offer in my silence
When I am silent I am listening, and not abandoning. "

Bradley Hathaway

glass eye

You’re a glass eye, glazed
staring, sneering, peering at me
with a cold, dark wonderment.
and I am bewildered, I am held back.
I am aching to pull towards you
an imperceptible force draws me into your territory.
I am beaten, I am battered and I am choosing to be this way.
I have been given the chance to pull away, to set apart.
But I don’t. I hold on and I hold out.
I connive and I am not victimized.
I pursue and I plead, for your guise to be ridden with flaws.
A pretext, an excuse to turn away from you.
I bawl and I bellow and I ask in vain why I find you worth it.
Why are you the one I feel the necessity to catch a glimpse of?
Why can’t I perceive or dream of anything besides your face?
Why do you have this unrelenting and unyielding hold on me?
And last of all, why are neither of us willing to let go.

don't blame me if you life goes down the crapper, so to speak.

Sometimes, I wish I was five again.
I wish everything was simple. Why does life get so trivial as we age?
A few months ago, October, although it feels like longer,
I made the decision to break off a relationship… well, no…
I decided to break off the concept of a relationship.
It was a to-be relationship that is never going to be.
Although many people openly argued (loudly) that “it should be more“, I created a mental roadblock.
You see, I firmly believe high school is like…potty training for life.
You probably don’t remember being potty trained, so let me remind you of what happened.
You were two years old and wearing a diaper. Life was going swimmingly and you were happy as a clam.
Then one day, for absolutely no logical reason, your parents became obsessed with having you use the toilet. At first you didn’t understand what the big deal was about. Then you started to understand - and you immediately rebelled. Finally, because your parents were stronger, and because you needed them for all sorts of stuff, you complied and learned to use the toilet.
After that, things weren’t so bad. Your parents were thrilled, and you felt pretty good, too.
In fact, it was hard to believe you ever used a diaper in the first place.
That’s what I mean when I say high school is potty training for life.
Only, the toilet is college. (I say that only in the most positive way.)
College is where we’re supposed to go.
Just like the toilet.
And when we do it, it makes our parents happy, and is good for us too
(more job possibilities and no more diaper rash!).
So back to the poor boy and my mental roadblock, Since to me high school
is no more than a peculiar intermediate step towards real life, just like toilet training,
I would never think of getting into anything serious during it.
Well, no, it’s more I guess, that although I had this great boy who fit the criteria of a fully functioning boyfriend and all, I will, in roughly 8 months, be going to college in some faraway place.
And when I do, high school and everything in it will disappear and be forever forgotten.
Just like my diaper and, I assume, this boy.

…You know what I’ve always wondered,?
Why our world is governed by rules.
Our lives are filled with them.
From the moment we wake up we follow them;
We wash.
We dress.
We don’t kill the first person we see.
We go to school.
We attend classes (usually).
We sit.
We listen.
And yet, the very rules we learn often contradict each other entirely.
For instance, we learn in English that i comes before e, except after c.
And what immediately breaks that rule?
Science.

Prommmmm

Update:
Sarah H is in my PE class.
So is that girl from my science class last year, and Jason and Peter.

Camille, Carlye and I switched out of peer tutoring and into Photography with Paul.
He's happy, cause he didn't know anyone there.
Mrs.Miller is mad at us, but she can go die now, kthnx.
I'm pretty stoked to be in that class. It's pretty much self directed, and Mrs.Long totally loves us. Dan is STILL not in my PE class; douchebag.
In other news, a bunch of crap is gonna go down at Hosea tomorrow.
I'm scared, but pretty happy that it's all going to be over with, one way or another.
Everyone has prom fever. Carlye ordered the prettiest prom dress and now everyone's doing the "who's going with who" crap. Since september, Carlye has had 8 different dates, Rachel has decided she's either going alone (she thinks prom is lame anyway) or maybe going with Dan, Camille will probably end up going with Josh, and I have no idea what I'm doing. Apparently Tiffany is going with Derek, Crystal is going with Jareth, Doug is going with Andra, and all the couples are paired off (with a grad class of 289 I'm not about to start naming everyone.
I could care less.
It's dumb.

You see, I have this theory.
Okay, so… I have a lot of theories, I know.
But this one isn’t going off brandishing high school relationships or anything of that
nature… or, at least, not much.
It’s not so much an opposition to teen romance as it is an expression of the brilliance of friendship.
Or perhaps a slandering of the stereotypical “THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT HIGHSCHOOL IS FINDING YOUR SOULMATE AND MAKING OUT IN THE HALLWAYS IN PURE BLISS AND HAND HOLDING PERFECTION” idiotic aptitude that is held by pretty much the entire student body of… the world.
I am not, I stress the not, disparaging, smearing or insulting in any way any of these couples… I think they’re adorable, (minus the ones who wish to display their affection in the form of excessive PDA in front of my Psych class, however; that just plugs up the hallway) I just think there are more important things we could all be focusing on rather than looking for that soul mate, especially in a school of 1200 where hooking up with the majority would be downright unreasonable (i.e. The colossal amount of grade eights who entered our hallowed halls this year).
For instance, what about your friends? Nothing kills me more than the girls (or guys, I’m sure there are some out there… but it’s usually the girls who end up being the lost puppy in most relationships) who find it practical to abandon all their friends for a new boy/girlfriend. Yes, yes, I know, they’re your true love and it will all be worth it. But suppose something goes wrong (heaven forbid) and you’re left with… what?
I suppose it’s all about prioritizing. And hey, if this sudden life-love is truly worth it, then all the more power to you. Just giving you fair warning. I just hope before you enter into a deeply romantic and heart busting love-fest, you think about your time management abilities. If they’re good, then great, If they’re on the weak side… well, wait it out. No point in wiping your friends off the radar until the eventual break up… why not, oh I don’t know… include everyone. They might get along. Call me crazy, but some people call that… consideration.
What I’m saying is… years from now when we’re looking back on our lives, it won’t matter how many notches we were able to carve into our bedpost (well, actually, I’d assume that would all depend on whichever path you take in life) but perhaps the friends we were able to keep, and look back on our memories with. Memories are often a lot more lonely when you have no one to reminisce with. Trust me on that one. You know what also rocks? The friends who are… just friends. The girls/guys of the opposite gender (or same gender if your gate swings that way… right on!) whom you remain just close buddies with. It’s always great to get another perspective, and it’s also fun to get away from the bitch fits or sausage fests.
I’ve had a lot of really close guy friends. At my old school the majority of my besties were boys. Most of them ended up being there for me a lot more than any of my female friends. I found I could tell them things that I would never dare tell even my closest femme fatales (you know I love you ladies). I’m not sure what the difference was, maybe I just find it easier to talk to guys. The point I’m trying to make is… friends come and go, but the special few who stick around through it all? They’re the ones that matter. The ones who can take your utterly obsessive moments, or your painfully down days. The ones who sit by while you gush about soul mates or make out with your latest boy toy in front of MY Psychology class. I’m definitely not trying to tell you not to date in high school. It’s one of the natural teenage experiences. Just don’t miss out on the other stuff offered to you. Worthwhile friends, amazing weekends, bad break-ups. Yeah, okay, so the last one isn’t so hot. But that’s all part of growing up. Hopefully, if you have cool stick-around friends, those bad bits will be just a little more bearable.
That’s all for now,
I’m out.
Adios my loyal chickas and papa citos,
Mahala xoxo

New Semester,bb!

Best effing semester ever!
Last semester was pretty sweet; family studies with Camille. Carlye AND Rachel (and Allyson, Kate, Tiffany and Kelsey... you're not forgotten), Enriched English with Cami and Rach... (where Will and I made the startling revelation that they take a regular English class, slap an "enriched" sticker on it, and give it a minimum GPA to make the smart kids feel superior.
Our school is SO ghetto, it kills me... gotta love it) Biology with Allyson and Kate... I see those girls all the time, but I am going to miss Mrs.Van SO much. She told me to come and visit, and she better know I'm going to take that invitation very seriously. (I have PE 12 with Van Waes during that block... you can't blame me for skipping)
I'm really going to miss my spare with Ben and Camille. (But not Jareth) I still have my spare with Camille (and Rachel!!!) but I didn't even see Ben today. LameXcor3.
My classes this semester:
1st period: PE 12 - Van Waes; Friends in this class: don't know, I switched into it 2nd period... so we'll see tomorrow
2nd period: SPARE - Mr.Pascoe apparently(whatevs); Friends in this "class" - Camille and Rachel as far as I know
3rd period: Peer Tutoring - Mrs.Miller/whatever teacher whose class I get assigned to; Friends in this class: Camille, Carlye, Mike and Poynter from the football team (I'd be scared if they peer tutored MY grade 8 class)
4th period: Psychology 12 - Mrs.McGregor: Friends in this class: Camille, Rachel, Layth, Bryan

Mrs.Miller kicked us out of peer tutoring until she assigned us to classes, so Cami, Car and I went to the caf and hung out with Dan, Alex and Paul.
Then Dan sacked Alex
and Alex beat him up.
Good times.
They almost broke the plexiglass window when they hit the wall.
Then they came back laughing.

Got to go find clothes that would pass as gym strip... ugh.

I'd like to point out that neither Dan, Allyson, or Alex is in MY PE class. They all have Maitland... in different blocks.
Kill me.

MOLLY <> says:
wanna switch to van waes class yet?
Dan says:
oh no way.
Dan says:
not gunna happen
Dan says:
sorry bb
MOLLY <> says:
:'(
MOLLY <
> says:
but but but...
Dan says:
no!

I have the worst friends ever.

You can take the road that will get you to the stars, I can take the road that will see me through. - Nick Drake

that quote always reminds me of that dumb conversation I had with Reuben.About how he thinks religion is fine, until people start basing their decisions on it.Which is exactly what I do. End of relationship. I’m not ashamed of my beliefs, I just pity those people who think I should be.
Today Jareth made some crack about believing in God, and then said to Camille, “oh no, maybe I shouldn’t say that around Molly, she might get mad at me” and laughed….
Then Camille answered “even if I DIDN’T believe in God, I’d still think you’re an idiot.”
No one expects it from Camille, I think . . . maybe because they still see her as the 15 year old practicing Wicca. I’ve been wondering… about people who annoy EVERYONE in their lives so much, but make no attempt to change, and then wonder why they have no real friends.
Maybe if they didn’t treat everyone like crap.
It makes me feel sorry for them, while at the same time, frankly, I can’t stand them either.
I’m lucky to have the friends I do. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much I love them. Camille, Carlye and Rachel in particular. They’re my three best and brightest friends and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t trade them in for anything.
As annoying and pointless as Family Management is, I’m going to miss being in a class with all three of them.
Having Allyson, Tiffany and Katelyn in that class was cool too. I can’t believe the semester is really, truly over. Things like this don’t usually concern me, it’s just a new semester…
and it’s not like any of my classes were particularly amazing either… but I have an attachment to them. Plus, I’m pretty sure I’m the ONLY person not on half days next semester.
Camille and Carlye both are, I don’t think Rachel is… I’m pretty sure she has physics, bio and chemistry in that one semester though… ouch. I’m going to miss Biology with Allyson and Katelyn, and I’m especially going to miss Mrs. Van… teacher of the freaking decade.
Then there’s English… everyone in that class was pretty cool, but it’s not like I wont still see Rachel and Cami all the time anyway. I’m going to miss sitting around on my ass during spare, that’s for sure. Who knew listening to Camille and Ben go on about breakfast bagels while sitting in Sharkey’s could become such a necessary part of my day?
Definitely not going to miss Jareth following us around though . . . ugh.I’m pretty sure this is just my fear of change rearing it’s ugly head again . . . or my fear of the future. I don’t want any of this to change! In 5 months Carlye, Camille and Caitlyn are going to disappear to Victoria, Jessy and Mary are off to C.R, and I’m left here with no ambition or purpose. Carlye and Camille promise they are coming back… but it’s still going to suck. Carlye’s already made the decision that the four of us are going to have our kids at the same time. And in 10 years we’ll be 27 and having thanksgiving together at her house. Rachel will be popping postpartum depression pills, Camille will be screaming at 2 little brats that look like Josh Reno, and I’ll be the sunshiny one with my hair in a beehive, 6 kids named Sandy, Mandy, Dandy, Andy and other names ending in -ndy, a husband named Randy, and my name legally changed to Candy (this is CARLYE’S theory) while Carlye is the “normal mom”.. . .that’s what we do during family management… but it’s Mrs. Turner’s fault for making us watch those dreadful child rearing videos on how to get the most out of your 2 year old.
I sometimes wonder if I’ll be a good mom. What will I do if I have a problem? I won’t have my own mother to call for help… although I suppose I could call Colleen (Rachel’s mom) Deb (Carlye’s) or Gail (Camille’s) since they’re all like surrogates to me anyhow. And I DO have a lot of aunts. I’m lucky, really. If I didn’t have all those people, I’m sure the mom thing would have been a lot worse for me. I’ve realized there’s no real point to any of the things I write. . . So maybe I should stop, this is quite a waste of cyberspace.
I’ll consider it,

ps. The good news? I still have my bus buds! Since I wasn’t in any classes with them, I have 0% separation anxiety. I still live down the road from Aja and Joel (and her hot tub) and can look forward to the 2 hours spent after school with Aja, Tess-a-belle, Krista, Rhea, Lainya, Nic, and Laythe.

pss. congrats on becoming a daddy Nic... even if you are 16 :P

Mr.Groundhog = No SHADOW

It’s now officially no longer wintry months… it’s now officially past that 2 year mark. 2 years since my mom died. It feels like it’s been a lot longer than 2 years. It feels like it’s been 10 lifetimes. Since she died I’ve had a couple completely bizarre relationships, 2 completely different schools, and 4 completely different houses in completely unique places each time. I feel guilty thinking it’s been longer than 2 years. I feel guilty for not thinking of her all the time. I feel guilty for not crying at every conceivable moment. I feel guilty for not living each second with her in mind. I wish I could say I do, but I often only remember her if something stirs up a memory inside me. It’s not that I forget her, per se, but rather I forget that she’s dead. No one goes around always thinking about what there mom is doing, or where she is; neither do I. It’s only when I do remember that she exists, that I remember… well, that she truly does not. I feel horrible for moving past it so quickly. I’m sure I’m not over it. Who could ever be over it? But I moved on with life, and I’m glad I did, but I’m sad that is was that easy. In reality, it was not easy. I went through not sleeping for 4 months (went to school, got home, napped, went to dinner, made up an excuse not to eat, went to my room, stayed up until my alarm went off at 6am, repeat.), denying she was even dead, dropped to 70 lbs, got over that; progressed to spending an entire summer crying; went through a stage of being so depressed I couldn’t cry; had a weird year of happy moments and absolute breakdowns; to bring me… here. I’m not sure what I am now. No more breakdowns. I cry very rarely, not sure if that is good or bad. I am fairly happy most of the time. I know that I’ve grown a lot in the past 2 years. Not just from the person I was post-tragedy, but the person I was before all that. I was selfish and way too self serving. My needs came before anyone else’s. I wasn’t a horrible person, and essentially, I’m the same person. I just have my priorities set in different places and I’ve matured enough to know that my needs are not the most important thing. The people around me matter more than I do, because they are the ones that I need to keep me strong… I do not want to lose that. I’m not entirely sure if the “new” me is any relation to my mom kicking the bucket, but I’m sure there is some sort of connection.I wonder if my mom could see me now if she would be proud of me. That is what I think about most often. Would she like who I’ve become? Would she shine with pride over the future I am forging for myself? I never dreamed I could get this far before very recently, but I wonder if she always saw it in me. She’d always say she knew I’d succeed. She said it about my brother, too. That she was positive he’d make her proud. Maybe that’s just a mother thing, but she always had so much faith in us. Right after my mom died, I went for a walk to go Christmas shopping/creating havoc in the wee town of Parkville with a bunch of my guy friends really late. We were just walking down the street when I had my first ever thought of “Is my mom watching me right now? What would she think?” and I got really self conscious. That was, in fact, the first time I’d admitted to myself that she was gone. As quickly as the thought entered my head, I pushed it away and thought “Who cares. It’s my life, and if she saw me, why would she even bat an eyelash? She left me, not the other way around.” and I did that for a few more months until I finally broke down. I still remember that line from the horrible and wonderful sisterhood of the travelling pants movie, but it really describes the feeling perfectly.“I just want to feel good, and happy, and alive… cause if I feel alive, it doesn’t seem like she’s dead. And if I‘m not sad, then it proves I‘m not like her.”Is that why I got so reckless? Is that why I screwed up so many things so royally? Why I hurt people purposely? Just so I could… feel? This isn’t making much sense, so I guess I’ll end it here.Ciao chickas and papa citos,<3Mala.
